Falls Festival- July 8th

Lyons Falls ALIVE will be hosting the annual FALLS FESTIVAL on Saturday, July 8th. The Parade will begin at 9:30am.  If you are participating, be sure to line-up in OTIS parking lot at around 9AM This year in addition to the community service award, kids’ games, Fifi the Clown, the Community Choir, and the County Band, there will be some exciting events. at 10:15 there will be a (hopefully annual) Frog Jumping Contest which will be immediately followed by a Frying Pan Throwing Competition!

No registration is required.  Organize and sell as much clutter as possible, than visit your neighbors and re-stock.  This year in addition to finding numerous treasures, visitors can visit our park and enjoy a 5K Color Run to benefit Make-A-Wish and a HUGE rummage sale to benefit drug prevention initiatives in Southern Lewis County.

Assistance for Alzheimer care-givers avaible

LutheranCare has been awarded a grant to provide free support services to those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or another memory impairment, living in rural or underserved communities with limited resources.  This grant focuses specifically on those living in Oneida, Madison, Herkimer, and Lewis Counties.    This grant allows LutheranCare to provide respite services, support groups, education and training, and social events at no cost to the caregiver.
