Streetscape Grant Project

Snow Belt Housing administered the Streetscape grant. The area served by this project is Center Street and the section of McAlpine Street from the signal light down to Center Street.  Flowering trees were planted in several yards along McAlpine Street.  A paver path has been constructed to join the small park beside Community Bank to the Canal Basin Park.  There are also pavers and a bench between Hendels Hotel and the railroad track.  A new “Welcome to Lyons Falls” sign has been installed at the corner of McAlpine and Cherry Streets.  Planters and benches have created pretty little “rest stops” in various locations.  A mural of the “Three-Way Bridge,” painted by Andy Hunter, graces the Dollar General building’s middle section, by Rt. 12 D.  Come admire it the next time you are in the village!
